There has been conflict with each ethnic group such as the 2001 insurgency in the Republic of Macedonia. It was an armed conflict that began with the ethnic Albanian National Liberation Army attacking the security forces of Macedonia. The goal was to overthrow Macedonia and create a Greater Albania. This attack was ended with the Ohrid Framework agreement in August 13, 2001 with Macedonia increasing the rights of ethnic Albanians in Macedonia.
